Just like steel mills, OSHA requires that contractor companies train their employees according to the standards outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations. Some contractor companies are conscientious and actually train their employees, while a surprisingly large percentage of contractor companies provide little or no training. To help your contractors meet the annual OSHA safety training requirements, MTS has created an online training curriculum specifically for contractor companies. All of the topics in the curriculum feature steel mill footage and present the OSHA training material from a steel mill perspective. The MTS Contractor Safety Training Curriculum is a valuable tool to help your contractors comply with many of OSHA’s training requirements.
Most steel companies rely on their own employees to do some or all of the contractor training. By using the MTS CON-TRACK system, no internal resources are needed in order to deliver high quality contractor training. Also, since the contractor companies pay for the training on a per-employee basis, there is no cost to you.

A contractor employee can actually take the training in your parking lot using a smartphone, pass the test and then walk straight to your guardhouse and be eligible to immediately enter and perform work. CON-TRACK keeps track of training anniversary dates and can be configured to automatically send emails to the contractor and the employee to remind them that they must take the training again in order to stay current.
